In this poetic outpouring by Richard Jefferies, the nineteenth century nature writer expressively describes his experiences with the natural world, and dwells on ideas of beauty and human nature. With eight colour plates tipped in, collated and complete. Booksellers sticker to the front paste down from A. H, Jennings second-hand shop in London. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, 'R. T. Dosseter. Jan 1963'. In the publisher's original green cloth binding with a decorative gilt front board. Externally, smart. Very lightly rubbed to the boards, a little more to the joints. There are some small black marks to the spine, which is a little bumped to the head and tail. Internally, generally firmly bound, with the gutter visible at a few points across the text. Lightly foxed to the front and the rear, with light scattered foxing to the fore edge of some pages. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
