About This Item
8vo. 190 x 130 mm., [7 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches. [viii], 99 pp. Illustrated by Harrie Wood. Original red cloth, dust jacket. Slight fading to binding and jacket, otherwise a very good copy.
First edition. Written in novel form in Russian and rewritten in English by Charles Angoff, this biography reads like a narrative with dialogue and third person observations. It is obviously for the young reader but it contains the essentials of the life and work of Stradivari and the epoch in which he produced his violins.
