This book continues through some tumultuous times, marriage to Robert McClung, the birth of her children and the awakening of her social activism, most especially regarding temperance and women's suffrage. Her efforts in the latter cause cleared the way for women to be elected to office and she did her part, serving as a member of the Legislative Assembly in Alberta for five years.
