About This Item

Ipswich: Norman Adlard & Co. Ltd., 1954. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good. 11" by 8". H. Munro Cautley. A signed third edition copy of this richly illustrated work on Suffolk churches, by the architect Henry Munro Cautley. The third edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Inscribed by the author to the front free end paper. Loosely inserted is an advertisement for another book by the same author. Illustrated with 70 plates, three of which are in colour, and a folding map to the rear. Collated, complete. Henry Munro Cautley (1876–1959) was an architect, best remembered for his works on ecclesiastical architecture. This profusely illustrated work focuses on the architecture and antiquities of Suffolk churches. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is very bright and smart, with just a small bump to the upper extremity of the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean, except for the odd spot to the paste downs and end papers. Dust wrapper is somewhat sunned and spotted, with chipping to the head and tail of the spine, with a small closed tear to the front of the wrap. Very Good Indeed
