Foreword by David Gillespie, introduction by author, bibliography and index. The text is illustrated with colour photographs and illustrations. Colour photographic paperback binding, with French flaps, black, blue and grey coloured titles front panel and back strip. In this book the author experimented on himself, by putting himself on a diet of 40 teaspoons of sugar per day (the average intake of most Australians) for 60 days; "... Crucially, he would only consume perceived "healthy" foods like muesli bars, breakfast cereals, low-fat-yoghurts, juices and smoothies. The results were staggering. Although his caloric intake was the same as his regular diet, he put on nearly 9 kg in 60 days. Within a couple of weeks, he had the beginnings of a fatty liver disease. Doctors who monitored his health throughout warned him that he was on the road to obesity, diabetes and heart disease." – from the front fold over panel blurb. But all is not lost, he then goes on to detail how to detox from sugar and to give some helpful recipes. Minor rubbing of the book edges and panels. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
