You've read all about Harry the Dirty Dog ... but if you haven't read "The Sugar Mouse Cake," you're missing out on the best that Gene Zion and Margaret Bloy Graham have to offer. The pictures are early M.B.Graham, and have more detail than their later collaborations. The story is wonderfully written, charmingly sincere and absolutely unforgettable.Tom is the Ninth Assistant to the Chief Pastry Chef, and no one but Tina, the mouse who lives in the flour pantry, knows what a good chef he is! Tom creates his masterpiece ... the Sugar Mouse Cake, and with the help of tiny Tina wins the king's favor.
