Based on Winston Groom's 1980 novel. In the late 1950s, an elderly Black woman fights to keep the land she was given by the former owner of the plantation where she worked for years.

Set in southern Louisiana, shot on location in Valdosta, Georgia.

White untitled wrappers. Title page present, dated FEBRUARY 28, 1985, noted as FINAL DRAFT, with credits for screenwriter Jeff Andrus. 131 leaves, with last page of text numbered 129. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Very Good, lightly dampstained on the front wrapper, bound with three gold brads.
