Pictorial dust jacket, light brown cloth boards. Copyright page states 'First edition, 1974'. Original $7.95 price on the front flap. Translated, and with an introduction, by Charles S. Terry. The strange and incredible story of a World War II Japanese soldier who survived in the Philippine jungles for thirty years after the war ended. Although he kept no journal, about three months after he returned to Japan he dictated two thousand pages of recollections. This book is the English edition drawn from this recollections. A very good copy iin dust jacket. Previous owner's name on the half title page. The book has minimal shelf wear. The jacket has light edge wear.
