The first edition, first impression of this work, with the misprint to page forty-four, line ten.In the original unclipped dustwrapper.'Swan Song' is a novelised social history of the inter-war period, the third novel in the 'A Modern Comedy' series, which followed 'The Forsythe Saga'.Written by John Galsworthy, an English novelist who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1932.Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper, 'Geoffrey M. Sutton, 12th July 1928'. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A couple of minor marks to the boards. A few spots to the fore edge. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper. Dustwrapper with minor edgewear, with a small closed tear to the head of the front wrap, and a small chip to the tail of the spine. Dustwrapper is lightly discoloured. Minor spots to the reverse of the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with just a couple of scattered spots. Near Fine
