About This Item
"Sylvie and Bruno" (1889) with "Sylvie and Bruno Concluded" (1893) by LEWIS CARROLL. Each book is a first edition published by Macmillan and Co. in London. Both books contain 46 illustrations by Harry Furniss. Gilt page edges on all sides. "Concluded" contains the chapters VII and VIII errors in the Table of Contents, as called for for the first edition. There are three pages of advertisements at the back of "Sylvie and Bruno," and five pages of advertisements at the back of "Concluded."
Condition:
Some very light soiling to the covers and spines; the red cloth on the spines has somewhat faded. Sharp cover corners. Both books are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. The insides of both books are in terrific condition - the pages are clean and nearly appear unread with only some tanning to the title pages from the tissue guards over the frontispieces. Bright gilt page edges on all sides. The back cover of "Sylvie and Bruno" has a few small areas at the top and bottom where there is a bit of bubbling under the cloth. The back cover of "Concluded" bows outward at the center just a bit. Each spine has a couple tiny cloth tears at the top edge. Overall the books are in Very Good condition.
