A charming collection of children's stories written by Maria Edgeworth and illustrated by Hugh Thomson. This is a charming collection of children's stories written by Maria Edgeworth. Edgeworth was a prolific novelist of both adults and children's literature. This collection includes The Orphans, Lazy Lawrence and The False Key to name a few and has an introduction by Austin Dobson and is illustrated by Hugh Thomson. Including fifty illustrations and a frontispiece delicately done by Hugh Thomson. Collated, complete. Rebound spine in Moroccan leather, original spine is pasted to the rear and cloth gilt covered boards. There is some fading to the boards and extremities and some marks to the boards. A previous owner's sticker to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with the odd scattered spot throughout. Very Good
