Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1863. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo. pp. v, [3], 1-225, [3], 22 page publisher's catalog. Wayside Inn frontispiece with tissue guard. First American edition, first issue with publisher's catalog dated November 1863, page 11, Tales of a Wayside Inn is unpriced and described as Nearly ready. Binding is BAL HT green cloth. Green cloth binding and spine are not faded with very minor corner and crown wear. Top edge gilt. Front paste down has the name of a previous owner in pencil. Frontispiece and tissue guard have minor browning, the rest of the interior of the book is very clean. Edges of a few pages of the publisher's catalog roughly opened. First appearance of Paul Revere's Ride. Overall a fairly attractive copy. BAL 12136.
