About This Item
London: George Routledge, 1925. First Edition. Hardcover. 8vo. With jacket. 232 pp. Four b/w plates (including frontispiece). Pictorial title page. Shepherding lives from around England, recorded by the author from the 1870s to the 1910s, shortly before this traditional form of shepherding largely disappeared from the land. Book is very clean and sound. No inscriptions. The dustjacket, which carries a TLS review of the book to front panel, publisher's ads to rear panel, has had a few small tears neatly repaired to reverse and has slight tanning of the spine area, but is otherwise clean and sound. A lovely copy of a very scarce shepherding classic. VG+ / VG
