The author, Jakob-Robinson, was a German-American writer. Her pseudonym was an acronym of her initials. [ Howes R377 ]. Mrs. Robinson was born in Germany, the daughter of a renowned professor, who married theologian Edward Robinson, and moved to America in 1828. As a linguist, she was drawn to study the native American languages. This is Hazlitt's version of her Die Colonisation von Neu England (1847).
