Bibliography. Index. Addenda. Newspaper clipping pasted inside rear cover. Cover has some wear and soiling. Some pages have small edge tears. Colonel Robert J. Icks, USAR-Retired was a student of and writer on armor. He authored five books and numerous articles for professional journals. Having an enlisted man in World War I, he was commissioned in the Infantry Reserve upon graduating from Ripon College in 1927. During World War II. he served as a colonel with the Ordnance Department. Phillip Andrews was a noted editor of military related works. The present book encompassed much of tank history into World War II when it was published. This pictorial history of AFVs to the end of WWII is by a distinguished US authority on armored warfare. Eight sections cover AVs from different nations with historical text and data introducing extensive photo coverage.
