Tarzana, Calif.: Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., (1947). First Edition. Fine in blue cloth covered boards with red-orange text on the spine and front board. A small octavo of 7 1/2 by 5 1/8 inches with the top edge of the text block stained red.. In a very near fine unclipped (no price) dust jacket with only a hint of rubbing to the ends of the spine area and three tiny nicks to the lower edge of the front panel. 314 pages of text and illustrated with a frontispiece and four plates from paintings by John Coleman Burroughs. An extremely fine copy with no prior ownership markings of any kind.
Synopsis
Tarzan and the Foreign Legion is a novel written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the twenty-second in his series of books about the title character Tarzan. The book, written June-September 1944 while Burroughs was living in Honolulu and published in 1947, was the last new work by Burroughs to be published during his life (Llana of Gathol, the tenth book in the Barsoom series, was published in 1948, but it was a collection of four stories that were originally published in Amazing Stories in 1941).
