New York: Atheneum,, 1990. First edition, first printing, signed by the author on the title page, of the fourth Earthsea book and the final instalment in the original quartet. Tehanu won the 1990 Nebula Award for Best Novel and the 1991 Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel. In its review, the New York Times noted that "The astonishing clearsightedness of 'Tehanu' is in its recognition of the necessary and life-giving contributions of female magic - sometimes disguised as domesticity" (20 May 1990). Octavo. Original black cloth-backed orange boards, spine and rear cover lettered in bronze, front cover lettered in blind, orange endpapers. With dust jacket. With 2 full-page maps in the text. Light fading to cloth in places, contents fresh; jacket with light rubbing, still sharp and bright, unclipped: a near-fine copy in like jacket.
Synopsis
Tehanu was the fourth of Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea books. It won the Nebula Award for Best Novel in 1990, and the Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel in 1991.
