Very Good Condition/good. 900 g; 270 pp., last two blank, preface by author, a chapter on the firearms of the bushranging era, with photographic illustrations, and another chapter some books on bushranging, notes on the ballads. Illustrated frontispiece, showing the shooting of Dan Morgan. The text is illustrated with contemporary photographs, black and white illustrations and sketches. Pale orange boards with white writing on spine. The corners of the book are slightly rubbed and there is shelf wear evident to the heel of the spine. Illustrated dustwrapper, showing Ned Kelly's armour, with yellow background and red and black writing on front panel and spine. The dustjacket has faded on the spine section and on the margins of front and red panel, chipping at the top and bottom of the spine section, a 1.5 inch long tear at the bottom left-hand corner of the front panel, rubbing with short splits and minor chipping at the top and bottom of each fold over, the previous owner had protected the book using clear plastic held down with sticky tape, the sticky tape has browned, leaving marks on the fold over flaps and paste downs. Otherwise a sound copy. A history of Australian bushranging from the first death in 1796 of A West Indian negro called Black Caesar to the last of the bushrangers who died in 1930 ,Jack Bradshaw.
