London : Hutchinson, 1954. First edition. Cloth. Very Good/Good Only. 9" by 6". None. A first edition of this illustrated biography of Lloyd George. First Edition. Featuring a photographic frontispiece. 'With 41 photographs'. Humphrey Frank Owen (27 September 1905 23 January 1979) was a British journalist and Liberal Member of Parliament. He was a Lloyd Georgite Liberal MP for Hereford between 1929 and 1931. Owen worked as a journalist and became editor of the Evening Standard in 1938 and the Daily Mail in 1947. During the War he edited SEAC, The Services Newspaper of South East Asia Command. In the original clipped dustwrapper. Externally, generally smart with some slight rubbing to the rear board. Some chipping and wear to the head and tail of the spine of the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to the endpapers but otherwise clean and bright. Very Good
