Boards and spine slightly worn and soiled. The author was U.S. Minister to Denmark from 1907-1918, and issues this warning about German politics toward Denmark. He provides an account of the German takeover of Slesvig and the resulting access to the Kiel Canal, and discusses the implications of German aggression for World War I, Denmark, and the future. There is material on Theodore Roosevelt, including the attitude of Kaiser Wilhelm II and of Czar Nicholas II toward Roosevelt, and the European admiration for him. This copy was presented to Meyer Cohen, Esq., by Simon Wolf, a friend of the author's.
