London: Collins, 1956. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. FIRST PRINTING of First Edition. Original black boards with gilt lettering spine. The book has clean covers, minor dulling of the gilt lettering on spine, small bump lower rear corner of cover, previous owner name and date penned to first blank page, no other previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, tight binding. The dust jacket has light soiling on rear panel, 1cm loss to upper corner of spine, tiny loss at corner tips. The book measures 214mm tall x 140mm, and has 255 pages, 5 maps, 36 b/w photos. 3-woman party made the first ascent of Gyalgen Peak (6706m, near Dorje Lakpa peak) on the Nepal-Tibet border in the Jugal Himal near the village of Tempathang. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
