About This Item

New York: Crown Publishers, 1954. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. First Printing of FIRST EDITION. Original tan cloth, blue lettering spine. LACKING dust jacket. The book has clean covers, no rubbing, solid binding, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing. Book measures 218mm tall x 14cm, and has 285 pages, 14 b/w photos, glossary, index. Biography of Tenzing, mostly climbing. Interesting because of the perspective of the author (French). He is not very kind to the British & NZ members of Hunt's Everest expedition, whereas he praises the Swiss. Also has a chapter on the career of being a Sherpa.
