About This Item
Boston: Charles E. Goodspeed & Co / Stinehour Press, 1979. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/near fine. Book and contents completely fine. Minor edge wear to the plain glassine wrapper, slipcase also fine. A lovely copy of one of the very best American leaf books. The is a particularly desirable New Testament leaf-- the last third of Mark Chapter 8 and most of Mark Chapter 9: " What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" This is the very heart of the Puritan mission into (for them) the wilderness, printed in Cambridge in 1663. This is also the first bible printed in British North America. An exciting leaf on many levels, the accompanying book is one of 87 copies printed at the Stinehour Press. Disbound and Dispersed 167.5
