Austin, TX: The Jenkins Company, 1982. Pamphlet. [80]p., 8.5x11 inches, stapled wraps, date in red pencil on front wrap, address label on rear wrap, else very good condition; listing of 950 books and documents for sale. Catalogue 148. John Holmes Jenkins, one-time president of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America, was found dead after a scandal involving gambling debts, forged historical documents, and arson and insurance fraud. He was ruled a suicide although he was shot in the back of the head and no gun was found. See Calvin Trillin's "Knowing Johnny Jenkins" in The New Yorker, October 30, 1989, or the more recent book by Michael Vinson, "Bluffing Texas Style.
