About This Item
Harlan Quist, 1969. HARDCOVER. NEAR FINE in very good minus dustjacket. . In ancient Japan a Samurai warior named Tsuneyo was robbed of his ancestral lands while fighting for his prince in a terrible war. Virtually reduced to poverty, the only possessions he had left were the three dwarf trees in his garden, which were a symbol of his class, and which he tended faithfully and honorably. Then one night a pilgrim lost in a storm found his way to the home of Tsuneyo some extraordinary events occurred. Based on a Japanese Noh play. Very small amount of edgewear to extremities. A few nicks, creases and a small, closed (repaired) tear to dustjacket. Tiny inked "1888" written below title on title page.
