Includes the first account of the taking of San Antonio in Dec. 1835 by the Texans. He was with the survivors who surrendered to Urrea at Goliad and because he was a surgeon he was ordered to attend the Mexican wounded and escaped the mass execution ordered by Santa Anna a few days after Fannin's surrender. One of the Steck Original Narratives of Texas History and Adventure Series.
