About This Item
N.Y.: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1971. Book. Near Fine. Soft cover. Advance Reading Copy. Fine But For , Light Cover Soil, And Rusty Paper-Clip Mark At Top Of Title And Half Title Pages. Appears Unread, With No Spine Crease. This Would Appear To Be Some Form Of Advanced Proof Copy. Mustard - Orange Card Covers, Hand Numbered Pages ( 207 ), And Most Intriguing, The Original Title " Tara, Bowing " Has Been Stroked Out And " The Tiger's Daughter " Has Been Written Above. I Assume, Therefore, That The Working Title Was Changed At The Last Moment, And The Missing Note That Was Clipped In May Have Been The Author's Explanation For The Change. I Don't Know Whether The Change Is In The Author's Hand, But This Is A Most Intriguing Copy Of Mukherjee's First Book..
