True 1st Edition of this classic mountaineering book. The book contains an inscription from Joe Simpson to his friend, thanking him for for his advice given before the expedition to Siula Grande. The friend's name and address is written inside the book, and the wrapper is price-clipped, presumably by Joe, as the book was given as a gift upon publication. Colour photos. The wrapper is creased at the top of the spine area.
