London: Macmillan, 1928. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. The first impression of the first edition (Wade 158). Original decorative stamped gilt green cloth hard covers, with design signed TSM DEL. All edges untrimmed. Two-page publisher's advertisement at rear. [2+]vi,110+2[ads.]pp. Slight handling and rubbing to covers; moderate soiling to edges. The front flyleaf is toned as from a newsprint clipping. Jacket chipped and split along two folds but substantially complete (now assembled on book in archival mylar sleeve). Otherwise, clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome copy. .
