Text volumes in contemporary one-quarter brown calf & marbled paper by S. Wardwell of Bridgeport, Connecticut, the atlas in contemporary gilt-lettered one-quarter black morocco & marbled paper. Text in French Garrison & Morton/ A Medical Bibliography: An Annotated Check-List of Texts Illustrating the History of Medicine 4417

Text volumes ex library with the bookplate (marked discarded) of the Bridgeport Public Library at the front pastedown of both volumes (no other marks), rubbed & scuffed, shallow losses at spine extremities, spines darkened, gilt lettering very dull, scattered foxing, small bookbinders' label at rear pastedowns, Good or so & still quite serviceable. Atlas volume rubbed & scuffed, foxing throughout affecting the text more than the plates, previous owner's small bookplate at front pastedown, booksellers' receipt dated 1932 tipped to the last blank page, Good or better.

The Garrison & Morton bibliography records the set as here offered Further, as they note, "This was Malgaigne's greatest work."
