New York [1928], Harper. Red cloth, very good, 2 vols., 387+ 406p., index, appendix, map. Edited by Sir E. Denison Ross & Eileen Power, Broadway Travellers series. See Yakushi H249c. Gabet and Huc, Lazarists attached to the mission of Si-Wang, were dispatched to examine the nature & extent of the Apost- olic Vicariat established by the Pope in 1844. They suffered incredible hardships and dangers, and succeeded not only in the rare feat of reaching Lhasa, but even settling there un- til the Chinese minister had them deported.
