H. M. Caldwell, 1886. Paperback. Good. 345p in limp leather wraps. The wraps extend about a half inch past the text block, and these 'yaps' are curled and worn, as is normal. Some light staining and soil, creasing to spine. A little very light foxing to front matter; main pages are clean and bright with two exceptions: pages 56-57 and pages 70-71 are lightly tanned where newspaper clippings were used as bookmarks. There are a few breaks between gatherings; most noticeably between pages vi and vii in the table of contents; but the binding remains sound. Size: 12mo - over 6 3/4 in - 7 3/4 in tall. Year: 1886.

Hinges are slightly cracked with exposed netting. Clean pages with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pencil markings to front pastedown. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Minor splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Visible wear marks to boards.
