We are an ABA- and ABAA-affiliated general-interest bookstore with two stores in Salem and Corvallis, Oregon. Lacking the rare dust jacket. Beige cloth with decoration in red, blue, and black, and the crown and throne within the cover illustration stamped in gold. Cloth rubbed, age-soiled, with about two inches of dampstaining to bottom of front outer hinge. Spine square. Binding sound. Seven typewritten and signed letters from Lloyd Alexander, in personalized envelopes; one handwritten and signed Christmas card; two additional empty personalized envelopes. The letters date from 15 December 1997 - 12 May 2001 and cover a range of topics including baseball, radio, cats, Christmas, the appeal of opening presents early, and the Kenneth Starr hearings. The Christmas card has only light edgewear. Envelopes scuffed, edgeworn, with occasional folds or creases. The letters are each folded in half on the long edge but are otherwise free of notable wear. The archive includes nine typed and signed letters from Bradbury to Bell, scripts of the adaptations, a cassette tape of the radio show, Bradbury's recipe for dandelion wine, and other related ephemera. Johnston, Government House, Hong Kong. 14/3/07' inked in red to FFEP, with Johnston's bookplate at front paste down. Green cloth with gilt titles and decoration. Cloth and gilt a little sunned at spine, gilt at front panel sharp and bright. Cloth lightly scuffed and gently age-soiled, edgeworn, with fraying to rear exterior hinge, spine tips, and fore-edge corners. Rear hinge split; both inner hinges have been inexpertly repaired with glue to the gutters of endsheets; slight split to binding following the half title. The glue repair is holding solid at rear hinge. Binding else intact, and sound through the textblock. The fold-out map at rear is present, still attached, in very good condition.
