The first edition of this work.An uncommon work.Charles Richard Weld's popular travel account of two months he spent travelling around the Highlands, Orcadia, and Skye.Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, three colour plates, and four in-text engravings.Collated, complete. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper.Twenty-four pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with light discolouration and marks to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small cracks to the joints. Hinges are a little strained but remain firm. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Ink inscription and tape marks to the recto to the front endpaper, tape marks to the rear endpaper. Booksellers label to the rear pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some odd spots. Very Good
