About This Item

Approximately eight pages, typed, though several are cut and pasted to make four sheets; Typed draft, with many hand written corrections, for 12/11/35 "Today" syndicated column boxhead titled "Visit to Governor Landon. A Direct, Able Man. You Would Like Him. Presenting Nancy Jo." ; Draft was typed and corrected in the offices of The Topeka State Journal, and there is included an eight by ten photograph of Brisbane at the typewriter; Also included is a newspaper clipping of the published column, as well as file photo copies of all the above; General light wear, though overall clear and intact; Although addressing politics of the day and introducing the Landons to America in preparation for his 1936 presidential bid, there is also much about the very outgoing and sociable three year old Nancy Jo (Nancy Landon Kassebaum Baker), whom Brisbane states "She may be the first woman President.". Unbound. Good. Manuscript.
