About the author

Judith Meyer is a well-known polyglot and author of many language-learning materials. She originally became known as the mastermind and voice of GermanPod101 and later went on to found the Polyglot Gathering, a conference that brings together 300-500 of the world's greatest polyglots from around the world each year. Judith herself speaks 14 languages, including fluent Chinese and Modern Greek, and has read literature in 12 of these languages. A particular desire for her is to encourage people to study languages with a different writing system. Her "Script Hacking" method is designed to enable anyone, even newbie language learners, to acquire a new alphabet in just a few hours.

Judith did not have the advantage of growing up bilingual; her family hails from a small, very homogeneous little town near Dsseldorf, Germany, and Judith did not encounter any foreign language before she started taking English classes at school at the age of 10. Almost all of her 14 languages were self-taught after the "critical age", proving that there is no insurmountable obstacle to learning languages as an adult.

Judith continues to learn more languages and blogs about it at www.learnlangs.com as well as on her Youtube channel, where she also posts lectures and interviews that she has done in foreign languages (in the past few years, she was featured on Greek, French and Japanese TV as well as the Dutch national radio). When not learning languages or creating language content, she enjoys coding, reading, playing Igo, and practicing yoga.
