First US edition.. 203 pp. One page corner-creased, bookplate to front free endpaper, else near fine in and near fine dust jacket with a short closed tear to top edge of rear panel, and a snag to upper portion of spine. Lowry’s first novel, published originally in 1933 in England and here published in the US for the first time, as revised slightly by Lowry before his death in 1957. Introduction by Margerie Lowry.
