About This Item
London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1898. 1st ed. . Red Cloth. Good+ for Age/No Jacket. 14 Cms x 20.5 Cms. f/piece with tissue guard (brain diagram)+xv+436; early sig. top fr. endpaper, outer sides of endpapers browned, crease across top outer corner of rear endpaper, bottom front end-gutter opening exposing small patch of netting; covers generally clean but spine darkened with slight end-rubbing and a tiny white fleck. Interesting immediately pre-Freudian overview of the topic drawing on numerous late 19th century authorities such as Hartmann, Romanes, Maudsley et al (but not F.W.H.Myers I note). Much on role of unconscious in relation to physical illness therapeutic approaches but nothing I can see on psychotherapeutic or mental illness contexts. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
