About This Item

This is an antique copy of "Under a Colonial Roof-Tree ~ Fireside Chronicles of Early New England" by Arria S. Huntington. 1892 1st edition; Wolcott and West; Syracuse. The book features six full-page illustrated plates. Gilt top page edges. Please see the photos for the complete list of contents. The book details daily life and family stories from early days in Massachusetts, particularly in and around the town of Hadley.

Condition:
Some light soiling to the covers and spine. Sharp cover corners. Bright gilt top page edges. Tight binding with no loose pages. There is an insignificant crack at the front hinge between a blank end paper and the frontispiece (despite the crack, the front cover is still firmly in place and is not shaky). Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the text pages are clean with no notable issues found. "To be given to Smith College" is written in pen on the front pastedown. Old name written in pen on the front end paper. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.
