Recollections of Military Operations in the War for the Union, The Spanish War, The Boxer Rebellion, etc." Copyright page states Published October, 1912. Two volumes in blue cloth boards with gold lettering and front stamped with flag on gold circle. Top edges gilt. Indexes, 580 and 582 pages, Frontis portraits of author with tissue guards. Previous owner's name and 1912 date on front free endpaper of each volume and partly blotted onto front pastedown of vol. 2.. Spines slightly concave, and board corners lightly worn. Author advanced to Major General during the Civil War and returned to military command troops in later contests.
