1942 SUPERMAN 1ed Superhero Graphic Novel DC Comic Lowther Color Illustrated"When Superman came out, it galvanized the entire industry. It's just part of the American scene. Superman is going to live forever."
― Jack Kirby, Comics Journal
Superman is one of the most popular fictional superheroes of all time, published by DC Comics. Superman appeared in various radio shows, newspaper comics, and eventually television and movie premiers. Because of his popularity, the name Superman has become synonymous with the American comic book. The book is the first novelization of a comic book character, and the first Superman story written by someone other than Jerry Siegel. It was Lowther who first provided many now-familiar details of Superman's birth and early life.
This 1942 first book edition by Random House features nine full-page illustrations with all 4 color illustrations.

Description:
1867 CIVIL WAR History Abbott Illustrated Slavery Abe Lincoln Battle Maps RARE John S. C. Abbott' writing style "did much to popularize the reading of history."
– Dictionary of American Biography
"History of the Civil War in America" is an extremely useful account of the Civil War and was published in a time wherein it would have been read as news rather than history. Though well researched, the author makes use of colorful narrative style giving these more the feel of a popular account than a sober and authoritative text. Features events leading to the cause of the conflict through Lincoln's assassination in April of 1865 and with a final chapter on the results of the conflict as of the date of publication.
Filled with incredible illustrations of maps, portraits, and scenes.

1887 FOLIO Rime of Ancient Mariner Coleridge Gustave Dore & Paton Illustrated Known as one of the English Lake Poets, Samuel Taylor Coleridge was one of the most notable 19th-century English romance poets. Coleridge's longest poem was 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner'. This poem was one of the most important poems written at the end of the 18th-century, as it was known to begin the shift from the Romantic period into the Modern period of English poetry. It describes the sea voyages of a sailor who experienced dangers, adventures, and even supernatural encounters!
This huge 1887 edition is notable for including the illustrations of Gustave Dore and Joseph Noel Paton. In addition to the highly desirable art, this edition features commentary and critical notes by Alfred Trumble.

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons / The Knickerbocker Press, 1927. Half-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. Corners a bit rubbed, boards faintly soiled, ink date and owner bookplate of Robert N. Cherry on front flyleaf. 1927 Half-Leather. iv, 325 pp. 8vo. No binder's ticket, but appears to be a contemporary custom rebinding: blue leather spine and corners over blue cloth, gilt titles and rules, top edge gilt, new end sheets. "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is the traditional name for the unfinished record of his own life written by Benjamin Franklin from 1771 to 1790; however, Franklin himself appears to have called the work his Memoirs. Although it had a tortuous publication history after Franklin's death, this work has become one of the most famous and influential examples of an autobiography ever written. Franklin's account of his life is divided into four parts, reflecting the different periods at which he wrote them.
