In the original cloth binding. Full of symbolism, satire and nostalgia, this adventure was the highly anticipated follow up work from American fantasy novelist and news editor, Charles G. Finney. Much of his work has an oriental flavour. the SF encyclopaedia describes this work as 'a surreally unfocused Urban Fantasy set in the crypto-Asian city of Heilar-Wey'His first and most famous novel 'The Circus of Dr. Lao' won Most Original Book in the National Book Awards in 1935. In the original cloth binding. In the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart with minor shelf wear to the extremities. Discolouration to the cloth, heaviest to the head and tail of spine and boards. Off setting to endpapers. Dust wrapper is sound. Scattered chipping, heaviest to head and tail of spine and edge wear to extremities. Handling marks to wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Contemporary ink inscription to front free endpaper dated October 1944. Very Good
