The jacket is bright and shiny with a few short closed tears to its rear panel. It is protected by a removable Brodart clear-plastic sleeve. NOT a library discard. Sharp corners. The first few pages have a paperclip impression. All other pages are crisp, clean and unmarked -- probably never read. NO underlining. NO highlighting. NO margin notes. Subtitle: "Being an Account of My Stay at the German Rest Camp for Tired Allied Airmen at Beautiful Barth-on-the-Baltic." Autobiography of an American POW in WWII. Illustrated with b/w photos and drawings. Endpapers feature maps of the author's 401st Bombardment Group's missions over Europe, and of the German Stalag where he was imprisoned after being captured after bailing out from 27.000 feet into enemy territory.
