Simon and Schuster, 1946. Soft cover. Very Good. 309 pages, with glossary and index. Abridged and edited by Betty Burroughs, who supplied notes at the end of each biography, and based on the 1850 translation by Mrs. Jonathan Foster. Includes map of Italy, drawing of Florence, 48 pages of b&w art reproductions on glossy stock. Trade paperback, creases to spine (book falls open at one of them, but all pages attached), rubbing and light soil to wraps, light shelf wear and crease to top back corner, faint foxing to top edge. Marks in pencil observed on approximately five pages.
