About This Item
Paris: Éditions Émile-Paul Frères, 1926. Full Morocco. Slipcase of marbled paper pastedowns. Near Fine. No. 179 of 225 copies in limitation, this one of 200 copies printed on Vélin de Rives. The first novel of the prolific, and long-lived, Lacretelle, first published in 1920. 4to. 24.5 by 19 cm. 252, [1] pp. Beautifully bound in full onlay morocco with a modernist design of four border rectangles, Mondrian-esque, one might say, with spine with Cubist and wavy lines design. Wavy lines repeated in turn-ins. Binder, alas, unidentified. Original wraps are bound in. Marbled endpapers. Marbled paper pastedown on slipcase. Light wear and soiling to binding. Minor loss to paper pastedown of slipcase. Still a gorgeous copy, and we would say other than these cavils, a Fine copy.
