Marcelle Verite [MarcelleGerschel] [1904-1994] was a French children's author whose books met with great success and were published in many editions and translated into many languages. She had a longtime collaboration with illustrator Elisabeth Ivanovsky and also with Romain Simon. She named as her inspirations observation of nature, children, animals and the works of Selma Lagerlof and Rudyard Kipling.
Elisavieta Andreievna Ivanovskaia [1910-2006] was a painter and illustrator born in Bessarabia in the Russian Empire.
