Lightest shelf wear to tips, corners, and edges of the book; jacket flaps and rear panel a bit darkened. First printing of this edition. The first Heinemann edition of Powell's third novel in the simple green and white jacket. Lilley A.3 (b) (ii), 2,000 copies bound from the sheets of the 1948 Lehmann Holiday Library edition. This novel, considered by some to be Powell's most accessible, was first published by Duckworth in 1933. It was reissued by Heinemann after the success of the first two novels in the Dance to the Music of Time sequence. Later still it was re-issued like all the 'pre-war" novels in the same size and with a jacket in the style of the Dance novels. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Hard Cover.
