Fine condition in a bright and shiny Near Fine dust jacket. The jacket is protected by a removable Brodart clear-plastic sleeve. Sharp corners. Square and tight. NO owner's name or bookplate. Pages are fresh, crisp, clean and unmarked. Gorgeously illustrated throughout in beautiful full color. Afterword by Robert McCall. Has reproductions of McCall's mural of the conquest of the moon that covers an entire wall of the Air & Space Museum in Washington; McCall murals at the Dryden Flight Research Center & Edwards Air Force Base in California and at the Johnson Space Center outside Houston; the posters he created for 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY & his paintings of phases of the space program that appear on U.S. Postal stamps; his paintings that hang in the Pentagon, the Air Force Academy and in air bases around the world. Ben Bova's text covers the entire history of our explorationn of space as well as McCall's career and involvement in it. Bound in the original baby blue cloth, decorated in bright white.
