This is a practical approach to the theory of visual language, takingthe basics of line, shape, tone, colour, texture, form, scale, spaceand light and discussing how to use them. The first half of the booktalks about how artists can use these elements to create their ownvisual language and how this can be applied to develop their own work. This text is illustrated with the ceramic work of David Cohen.
