Jonathan Cape, London., 1957. First edition. The publisher's own issue - a lot of copies on the market were issued by the Book Society and are so designated on the title-page. Octavo. 256 pages. A novel set in Guatemala.Line of slightly fading to extreme top edges of covers. A bit of minor spotting to prelims. Very good indeed in very good dustwrapper, designed by Hans Tisdall, a bit chipped and rubbed at top edge and with the laminate lifting in places.
